Vision:
To build confidence, self-worth, and resilience in youth girls through a faith-based mentorship organization.
Mission:
To nurture and empower young girls, age 13 - 17 years old, to reach their fullest potential in their development by providing education in financial literacy, teachings on inner beauty and free hair-care services.
Criteria:
The program will include participants who will receive free hair services, once a month, for 6 months as a reward for participating in the mentoring and financial literacy program. Each young girl is expected to commit to the full 6 months. The group of girls will be selected from applications. Preferably girls who are experiencing challenges with peer pressure, education, motivation, anxieties, family dynamics, etc. will be chosen first.
Program Expectations:
1. The group of girls will receive free hair services by appointments after each session once attended. The requirements in exchange for the hair services will be to partake in the financial literacy and mentor program.
The participants will be assigned a workbook/ booklet on age-appropriate financial literacy along with occasional assignments. The book and assignments will not interfere with any school work.
2. After the six months of hair and mentoring sessions, the group of girls will partake in a group social event to socialize, network, and discuss the learned experiences.
3. Each participant will receive a copy of the chosen workbook(s) on financial literacy and a t-shirt.
4. At the end of the program, participants will be invited back to assist in volunteering/mentoring they will also be able to attend the social events.
